I am very excited to share the new TruScribe logo and tagline and what we hope it conveys. Over the past 8 years we’ve made very few changes to our logo. As a recovering brand designer I felt that at the start of our company, the logo’s primary job was to communicate:
- The higher level of professionalism that we provided.
- That we make sense as a whiteboard video company and look unique.
- The dual role science and art play in our production processes.
Our First Logo
It had a clean and logical font, paired with a display script font that showed some whimsy. We started with a logo to be sure people new we were a whiteboard company. We removed it because it was too long and generic.
We’ve worked with a few agencies that have wanted to take ‘a stab’ at designing something new for us, but there wasn’t the big change in focus that warranted something new. About 4 years back we did tighten up the script font a bit more for aesthetic reasons.
Our New Logo
The new logo seeks to do a bit more. We believe an icon design will make us more memorable, like we build our content to be more memorable. But the subject of the icon is intended to say something more about TruScribe. We brought back the marker, in the shape of a ’T’, which is our emphasis on drawing as the way we express ideas quickly, deepen stories and bring joy to viewers through this aesthetic. The marker is drawing a path that twists and turns in the shape of an ’S’. This path is what our drawings do for our clients, helping them discover their story, tell their story, and give their audiences a clear map to follow along.
Change is Hard
The new logo will take some time to get used to, for us and our clients. We hope people will like it, but in the end, what’s most important to us is that the new logo helps us be more memorable and recognizable to the community we serve.
